Every package also bundles months of the TTP course, which TTP sells on its own. Take the course out at its own published price and the picture inverts: the tutoring hours get more expensive the more of them you buy.

Target Test Prep GMAT Tutoring Overview

Target Test Prep is the Quant specialist of GMAT prep, and the tutoring is that curriculum with a person attached. You are not buying a tutor who will bring their own materials. You are buying time with someone who teaches the same course you will study between sessions, and who can open your performance data before the session starts.

Four packages are published, and they differ in two ways, not one:

• 5 hours for $1,750, bundled with 2 months of the TTP GMAT self-study course
• 10 hours for $3,500, bundled with 4 months of self-study
• 20 hours for $7,000, bundled with 6 months of the TTP GMAT OnDemand course
• 40 hours for $13,860, bundled with the same 6 months of OnDemand
• The TTP AI GMAT Coach comes with all four, described as a personalized assistant inside the course

The exam covered is the current GMAT, renamed from GMAT Focus Edition in 2023, so sessions cover Quant, Verbal and Data Insights. Buying runs either through a cart link on each package or through a free consultation call, which is what the page pushes hardest.

Nine instructors are profiled by name on the tutoring page with their tenure, from a Princeton and Harvard alum with 15 years of teaching to a test prep teacher of more than 20 years. What is not published is any individual score. TTP states that your instructor scored in the 99th percentile, but you cannot check that claim against a named person the way you can at Manhattan Prep, whose tutor profiles list a 775 and a 780.

The course in the box is doing more work than the price suggests

TTP sells the bundled courses separately on its plans page, so the bundle can be priced out. Self-study is $299 a month, $949 for 4 months and $1,099 for 6. OnDemand is $1,599 for 6 months. TTP publishes no 2-month plan, so the 2 months in the 5-hour package is $598 at the monthly rate.

Subtract those figures from each package and what remains is what the hours themselves cost:

The 5-hour package buys hours at $230.40 each. The 40-hour package buys them at $306.53. That is the opposite of how bulk pricing normally works, and the reason is the bundle: the 20-hour and 40-hour packages include exactly the same 6 months of OnDemand. Doubling the hours doubles nothing else, so the extra 20 hours cost $6,860, or $343.00 each, with no additional course access attached.

The page offers an hourly rate it does not actually sell

The tutoring FAQ answers the question "Do you offer tutoring packages at a discount?" like this: "To maintain a flexible tutoring experience for our students, all tutoring sessions are offered at an hourly rate. So, you are never locked into a number of tutoring hours that may not fit your evolving needs."

No hourly rate appears anywhere on the page. The only published way to buy is one of the four fixed blocks, and the smallest is 5 hours at $1,750. If a genuine pay-as-you-go rate exists, it is quoted on the consultation call rather than printed, so ask for it there before you commit to a block.

The flexibility that is real is scheduling. TTP publishes no cancellation or rescheduling policy and charges no fee for either, asking only for advance notice. Both Manhattan Prep and Princeton Review attach more process to their packages than that.

No guarantee covers the tutoring, and neither guarantee pays money

This is the clearest gap against the rest of the category. The tutoring hours carry no score guarantee of their own. What you get is the guarantee attached to whichever course is bundled, and both have conditions worth reading before you count on them.

The self-study score guarantee, which covers the 5-hour and 10-hour packages, is tiered by the official score you held before enrolling: 200 to 535 guarantees at least 130 more points, 545 to 595 guarantees 70, and the promise shrinks step by step to 10 points for anyone already at 655. To claim it you must send an official score report from before enrollment within 30 days of enrolling, complete 100 percent of the course and hit the accuracy benchmarks in your study plan, then send the new score report within 30 days of test day. Accelerated study plans are excluded, and so is anyone studying Quant plus Data Insights only or Verbal only.

The OnDemand guarantee on the 20-hour and 40-hour packages is different in kind: it promises a 715 or higher, not an improvement, and requires reading every lesson and watching every OnDemand video class.

Two details matter more than the headlines. First, neither guarantee returns money. Both remedies are a free course subscription equivalent to what you paid, so a miss gets you more studying, not a refund. Manhattan Prep refunds tuition or re-enrolls you at your choice, and Princeton Review refunds tuition on its 30-hour package. Second, the 5-hour package gives you 2 months of access to a course you must complete 100 percent of to qualify, when TTP itself sells that course in 4-month and 6-month plans. That is the tightest window TTP offers, on the package most likely to attract someone short of time.

Pricing

All four packages, read on the Target Test Prep tutoring page linked above on 21 September 2026. The last column prices the bundled course out at its own list price and divides what is left by the hours.

A sale was running when we read the page, with the four packages at $1,700, $3,325, $6,510 and $12,040 and the plans page advertising savings of up to $400 until 27 September 2026. The sale is the only place a volume discount appears: it takes the rate from $340.00 an hour at 5 hours down to $301.00 at 40. At list price, that ladder does not exist.

Against the two other branded GMAT tutors we review, the entry price is where TTP wins and the ladder is where it loses. Nobody else sells 5 hours: Manhattan Prep starts at 10 hours for $3,499 and Princeton Review at 10 hours for $2,200. At 10 hours TTP and Manhattan Prep are a dollar apart, $3,500 against $3,499, so what separates them is the bundle and the guarantee rather than the rate. Above that, Manhattan Prep falls to $283.30 an hour at 30 hours and Princeton Review to $180.00, while TTP stays at $350.00.

Who Target Test Prep GMAT Tutoring Is Best For

• Students who need a few hours, not a program. The 5-hour package at $1,750 is the lowest entry price in branded GMAT tutoring we track, and it is also the best per-hour value TTP sells once the bundle is priced out
• People already studying with TTP. If you are working through the TTP GMAT course, your tutor opens the same platform and works from your real error data rather than a diagnostic conversation
• Quant-limited scorers. TTP built its reputation on Quant, and a tutor from the company that wrote the Quant curriculum is the most direct version of that help
• Anyone with an unpredictable schedule. No cancellation fee and no formal rescheduling policy is unusual in a market that likes its process
• Students who want a course and a tutor from one supplier, without buying access twice

When You Might Look Elsewhere

• You want your money back if the score does not move. Neither TTP guarantee refunds cash, and neither covers the tutoring hours. Manhattan Prep offers a refund or a free re-enrollment on its 655 or plus 70 point guarantee, and Princeton Review refunds tuition on its 30-hour Comprehensive package
• You are buying 20 hours or more. This is where TTP is most expensive per hour and the competition gets cheaper. Princeton Review charges $180.00 an hour for 30 hours, roughly half TTP's rate

• You want in-person sessions. Every TTP package is online only

Final Verdict

The practical advice: buy the smallest package that covers the specific thing you are stuck on, use the bundled course months hard, and re-buy if the sessions are working. If you want a lot of tutoring and a guarantee behind it, this is not the product, and the money goes further elsewhere. How many hours of Target Test Prep GMAT tutoring should you buy?

Start small. The 5-hour package is the best value TTP sells once the bundled course is priced out, at $230.40 an hour against $306.53 in the 40-hour package, and nothing stops you buying again. The one case for going bigger up front is the 20-hour package, which is the last one to include more course time than the package below it.
