About These Free GRE Practice Questions
These 32 free GRE practice questions are built to mirror the reasoning the exam actually rewards across both Verbal and Quantitative Reasoning. You get instant feedback, a full explanation for every question, and a running score so you can see where you stand.
The questions are split into four sets, matching the main single-answer formats on the GRE:

What's Actually on the GRE
The GRE General Test was shortened in September 2023 and now runs about 1 hour and 58 minutes. It has three measures:

How to Use These Practice Questions
- Start with one set, untimed. Focus on the reasoning before you worry about pace.
- Read the explanation on every question — including ones you got right. Learning the cleanest path is what saves time on test day.
- Keep an error log. Note whether you missed a concept (a geometry rule, a vocabulary word) or made a careless slip.
- Retake the set timed. The GRE gives you a little under 2 minutes per Quant question and about 1.5 minutes per Verbal question.
