AADSAS GPA Calculator
Estimate how ADEA AADSAS will standardize your coursework into semester hours and calculate overall, science, BCP, other science, non-science, cumulative undergraduate, and graduate GPA buckets.
WF is treated as an F. Final verification can still recategorize courses.Course 1

AADSAS GPA rules used here
- All graded attempts count. Repeats are not replaced or forgiven.
- Quarter hours are converted to semester hours using the ADEA AADSAS factor of
0.667. WFis treated as anF. Non-graded credits likeP,S,CR, andWare excluded.- Science GPA includes biochemistry, biology, chemistry, physics, and other science.
- Course subject decisions can still change during official verification if AADSAS reclassifies a course.
Graduate GPA
—
0 graded semester hours • 0 quality points
ADEA AADSAS reports graduate coursework separately, while the overall GPA includes it.
How This AADSAS GPA Calculator Works
This tool estimates how ADEA AADSAS will standardize your coursework when you apply to dental school. The goal is not to mirror your college transcript GPA. The goal is to help you approximate the application-service GPA that admissions committees actually review.
ADEA AADSAS uses standardized grade values, converts quarter hours to semester hours, and includes all graded attempts for repeated coursework. That is why your AADSAS GPA can differ from the GPA on your transcript.
What this calculator estimates
- Overall GPA
- Science GPA
- BCP GPA for biochemistry, biology, chemistry, and physics
- Other science GPA
- Non-science GPA
- Cumulative undergraduate GPA
- Graduate GPA
ADEA AADSAS Rules Used In This Tool
This calculator is built around the published ADEA AADSAS guidance and Liaison help-center documentation used for verification.
Grade values
ADEA AADSAS converts transcript letter grades into numeric values before calculating GPA. Common examples include:
AandA+=4.0A-=3.7B+=3.3B=3.0B-=2.7C+=2.3C=2.0D=1.0FandWF=0.0
Repeated courses
If you retook a course, keep every graded attempt in the calculator. ADEA AADSAS does not honor school-level grade replacement or academic forgiveness when it builds your verified GPA.
Quarter hours
ADEA AADSAS converts quarter hours into semester hours using this factor:
1.0 quarter hour = 0.667 semester hours
Non-graded credits
Credits without a standard grade, such as pass/fail or withdrawal, are generally excluded from GPA calculations. A notable exception is WF, which is treated as an F.
Science GPA vs. BCP GPA
One place applicants get confused is the meaning of science GPA.
- Science GPA in ADEA AADSAS is broader. It includes biochemistry, biology, chemistry, physics, and other science.
- BCP GPA is narrower. It includes biochemistry, biology, chemistry, and physics only.
That distinction matters because math, statistics, engineering, and certain health-science courses may land in other science rather than in the core BCP bucket.
Why This Matters For DAT Applicants
If you are preparing for the DAT, this calculator helps you answer a different question than a DAT score calculator.
- A DAT score calculator helps you estimate exam performance.
- An AADSAS GPA calculator helps you estimate how your academic record may look once standardized for dental school admissions.
Those are separate intents, and most applicants need both.
Final Check Before You Apply
Use this tool to estimate your GPA profile early, but still verify the following before submitting your application:
- your course subject selections
- your semester vs. quarter credit entries
- every repeated course attempt
- whether post-bacc and graduate coursework are categorized correctly
If a course title is vague, ADEA AADSAS can still reassign it during verification.
